Hugo Fonce was born in Querétaro and raised in León, México in a Chinese-Mexican family.

Heritage was always a very important part of his life and UNMARKED was created with one thing in mind: to build a lasting recognizable shoe, uniquely crafted with a contemporary look.

For Hugo, the answer was in the past. He learned the art of making shoes like Charles Goodyear invented in 1869 but with the passion and heritage of Mexican shoemaking.

For 10 years, he has been perfecting this process, adding new materials, and combining techniques, resulting in pairs that resembles their predecessors and makes people rethink heritage.
